The Karlsruher SC will try to regain the fans' sympathy after the 0:3 loss in Kaiserslautern. On Friday, the KSC will host SpVgg Greuther Fürth at the Wildpark. Stephan Ambrosius, the Ghanaian defender, is back at the KSC after the winter break and is looking forward to playing for the team. "I'm just happy to be here and play football", he said. Ambrosius is also taking on a bigger role in the team, which has been depleted by injuries. "I can bring some experience to the team and help them out", he said. KSC coach Christian Eichner agrees, but attributes Ambrosius' growing role to his performances on the pitch. "He's important for the team and brings things that we don't have in abundance", Eichner said. Despite the loss, the KSC is still in the middle of the table and showing good signs. However, they are also prone to fluctuations. Ambrosius describes the team's situation as "not being a top-top team". The main issue is the lack of consistency over 90 minutes. "We sometimes sleep through half-time", Ambrosius admitted. The home game against Fürth takes on added importance, as the team needs to regain the fans' sympathy. "The team has noticed this and will react to it. They've already shown this in training", Eichner said. Additionally, the Franken have just escaped the relegation zone after a difficult season. For Eichner, they are currently the "team of the hour". Ambrosius has already played against the Spielvereinigung in the Wildpark in 2023, but was sent off after 25 minutes. In his opinion, all this is secondary. What matters is one's own attitude. "If you look in the mirror and can say you've given it your all, that's what matters", he emphasized before the decisive game.
